The best tips for planning outdoor balloon decor for a summer party

Outdoor birthday parties in the summer are always more fun and offer extra space for all the party essentials. However, summer heat can be challenging for balloons. Here are some tips to choose the best balloons and ensure they last throughout the party.

Choose the Right Type of Balloons

Latex and chloroprene balloons are recommended for summer heat due to their durability.

Select the Right Size

Opt for larger balloons and don't inflate them fully to leave room for expansion and prevent them from bursting.

Choose Light Colors

Light-colored balloons, especially white, reflect more sunlight and absorb less heat, allowing them to last longer.

Consider Foil Balloons

Foil balloons can be a good option for summer decorations, but it’s important not to inflate them fully. If foil balloons contain helium, the heat will cause the gas to expand and may cause the balloons to burst.

Make sure to leave them slightly under-inflated to avoid this issue.

Use Balloon Shiners with Caution

There are shiners available in spray and aerosol forms, either water-based or oil-based. In hot weather, avoid using them as they can cause balloons to explode. If you want to use them to prevent latex balloons from oxidizing, choose water-based shiners and apply them in shaded areas or on cooler days to ensure the balloons last longer without bursting.
